Category: SEAOC - Webinars
Series Information:

Functional recovery is moving from concept to practice, and SEAOC is bringing together the people shaping that shift. This six-part series walks through where the new standards are headed, how to set recovery goals with a client, and what implementation actually looks like on real projects. Sessions cover the development of functional recovery standards, building a recovery goal matrix, the link between functional recovery and community resilience, case studies applying FEMA P-58, QA/QC considerations, and structural health monitoring and non-destructive evaluation.

Each session is worth 1 CE unit, 6 units for the full series. Credit is only available for attending the live session, so plan to join us in real time.

Get Ready, Functional Recovery is Coming!

The upcoming Functional Recovery Appendix of the NEHRP Provisions and ASCE 7-28 will empower the engineering profession to design buildings with target recovery times to support community resilience. Designing for functional recovery will challenge industry norms and will need engineers to adapt to this new landscape. This presentation will review these areas we need to adapt to which include communicating building performance, nonstructural component design, existing building policy, and post-earthquake reconnaissance, and much more!
