About SEAOC

The Structural Engineers Association of California (SEAOC) is a statewide professional association representing more than 3,100 structural engineers across California. Founded in 1929, SEAOC has spent nearly a century advancing the practice of structural engineering through education, advocacy, and technical resources that shape how California's built environment is designed and built.

SEAOC operates as a federation of four regional Member Organizations — serving Northern California, Central California, Southern California, and San Diego — bringing together structural engineering professionals at both the local and statewide level.

Our members are the engineers behind California's hospitals, schools, bridges, and buildings. They are the professionals government agencies turn to when developing building codes, evaluating seismic safety policy, and responding to disasters. SEAOC and its members have contributed to some of the most consequential structural engineering standards in the nation, and we remain a trusted technical resource for policymakers, regulators, and the public.

SEAOC has spent nearly a century at the intersection of structural engineering expertise and public purpose. We invite you to explore our mission, our history, our leadership, and the Member Organizations that bring our work to life across California.
