November 2024 SEAOCC President's Message

Dear Members,
As we enter the final months of the year and reflect on all we’ve accomplished together, I am filled with gratitude for each of you. It’s truly a privilege to be part of such a dedicated and resilient community of structural engineers, and I hope this season finds you well and looking forward to the year ahead.
I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended our National Convention in Las Vegas. All who attended have noted that connecting with our peers from across the country was an energizing experience, reminding us all of the broader structural engineering community we’re fortunate to belong to. The conversations and camaraderie shared at the convention are a testament to the strength of our profession and the shared purpose that unites us.
While times may feel uncertain, I find hope in our community’s dedication to building a better world. Our commitment to quality, safety, and integrity remains our compass, guiding us to make a positive impact in the communities we serve. As engineers, we have the unique privilege of creating structures that not only meet the needs of today but also contribute to a stronger, more resilient tomorrow. Thank you all for your hard work and the positive impact you bring to our world. As we move forward, I encourage you to stay connected, continue supporting one another, and embrace the opportunities ahead. Our profession has a bright future, and together, we’ll shape it.
Warm regards,
Laura Rice, S.E.
