Continuing SEAOC Collaboration with the Structural Engineering Society of New Zealand (SESOC)

Thursday, February 21, 2019

SEAOC members Joyce Fuss, Laura Whitehurst (also a SESOC member), Kelly Cobeen, and Executive Director Don Schinske have been continuing regular collaboration discussions with fellow professionals from SESOC, including Executive Officer John Snook and Past President Paul Campbell.

As part of the collaboration we would like to make SEAOC members aware of the opportunity to participate in the SESOC 2019 Conference, “Challenging the Profession,” to occur August 19 and 20th in Auckland. SEAOC members are invited to participate, and if interested, to respond to the call for papers, closing March 1. The conference announcement is provided below.

As part of the collaboration, there is also an effort being planned to provide a scholarship for a SEAOC younger member to attend the SESOC conference. We are currently seeking donations from companies or individuals for the scholarship. If you are able to make a donation to help support this collaboration effort, please contact Don Schinske. Look in the March newsletter for more information on the scholarship.

Stay tuned for information on SESOC/SEAOC joint articles and webinars in future SEAOC newsletters.

Challenging the Profession
SkyCity Convention Centre, Auckland - 19 & 20 August 2019

SESOC is excited to be hosting another high-quality conference for structural engineers and those with an interest in the built environment.

The theme of this year's conference is “Challenging the Profession”, and we have designed a programme to enable you to meet with fellow professionals and to engage in stimulating interactive debate on issues that matter to you.

The conference will bring together professionals from a broad range of disciplines, including architecture, business, public policy, emergency response planning, regulation, and the legal profession.
