A Clark Pacific Project Manager directs one or more projects at a time from initial planning of the project through field completion. The Project Manager has competently performed all duties of a Project Engineer and Assistant Project Manager. The Project Manager has the experience and knowledge to make decisions at all phases of the project that will ensure proper design, production, and erection on the project. The Project Manager will direct a small group (or groups) of employees through day to day operations on a project/projects. The Project Manager will report directly to a Senior Project Manager. The following is a list of the main duties the Project Manager is required to perform:

•Detail panels and connection concepts that work with seismic and constructability requirements.
•Oversee development and submittal of Clark Pacific shop drawings for approval by General Contractor, Architect and SEOR.
•Develop engineering, production and field schedules for precast work and know relationship between General Contractor schedule and all of Clark Pacific activities.
•Attend meetings with Owner, Architect, SEOR, and/or General Contractor and make decisions on design issues that are in the best interest of all parties.
•Review contracts and know full scope of work Clark Pacific is responsible for performing.
•Cost and negotiate change orders with the General Contractor.
•Teach and develop knowledge of full precast scope to co-workers working for Project Manager (Project Engineers and Assistant Project Managers)
•Review Contract Drawings for changes in scope and verification of Clark Pacific conformance with Contract Drawings.
•Oversee communication between Clark Pacfic Engineering Project Team and other departments of Clark Pacific including Calculations Department, Quality Control, Production, and Field.
•Prepare job cost sheets throughout durations of a project to monitor important budget items.
•Review drawings produced internally for project for accuracy in means and methods and conformance with Clark Pacific practices.
•Assess bids Clark Pacific receives for work on a project and select appropriate vendor or subcontractor.
•Day to Day Communication with General Contractor for coordination of Clark Pacific engineering, production and field activities that impact or are impacted by the General Contractor.
•Prepare monthly billings for Clark Pacific Accounting Department.
•Prepare calculations and size attachments for temporary safety connections during erection of project.

Facilitates the successful design, fabrication, and installation of structural and architectural precast building systems; Applies engineering, project management, and communication skills while working as a team member to assure “cradle to grave” execution of assigned projects. Ensures a safe working environment by observing and enforcing company safety procedures and by exercising sound engineering judgment in design and construction of projects; Participates in the management of project budget. Job Requirements:

Design Phase:-10%
•Coordinates with Design Professional as well as GC to ensure a smooth design submittal process
•Coordinates with other trades that interface with precast scope such as windows, plumbing, electrical, window washing, etc.
•Prepares complete submittal drawings (floor plans, elevations, material specs, connection details, reinforcing details, general panel details)
•Obtain design approvals
•Coordinates submittals of welding procedures, grouting procedures, post-tensioning procedures, mix designs, precast samples, brick or stone veneer samples, caulking, water repellent, performance mockups, etc.

Production Phase:
• Provide complete shop drawings to facilitate production of projects including:
o Panel and/or Structural Element Drawings
o Reinforcement Drawings
o Miscellaneous Metal Drawings
o Formwork Drawings
o Form Change Studies
o Birdseye Drawings
oStripping, Yard Handling studies and drawings
•Coordinate purchasing of all required materials & forms
•Design panels and elements for handling stresses. Design lifting hardware, loops, rigging, brackets, and inserts for stripping and handling forces
•Provide and maintain a Casting Schedule for each project
•Perform Quality Control checks of forms, rebar, embeds and finished panels to ensure construction conforms to the approved drawings. Perform post-pour checks to assure
color, sandblast, and finish of panels conforms to the approved samples
•Check square footage against estimate
•Schedule start-up meeting w/ production

Erection Phase:
•Prepare Crane Studies, rigging diagrams, and the overall plan for the project. Ensures timely implementation of the Crane Contract and insurance verification prior to erection
•Prepare Erection Sequence, Load Lists and diagrams to facilitate timely loading and shipping to
the project site
•Coordinate shipment and organization of misc metal and other items shipped to the field
•Design Temporary Connections and braces to assure stability of system during erection
•Coordinate field manpower requirements with Field Manager
•Coordinate Fall Protection Plan including: handrails, lifelines, tie-backs
•Observe and enforce company safety procedures
•Inspect welding, grouting, and installation of the precast system. For welding, patching, and grouting, complete the required documentation (Weld Books, Grout Books, and Patch Books)
•Facilitate erection of precast system and provide support for the Field Foreman
•Coordinate trucking during erection. Arrange for staging areas prior to erection
•Coordinate with the ongoing work of other trades
•Professionally represent the company in the field
•Coordinate with Structural Engineering to design As-Builts. Coordinate and follow through implementation and documentation of as-built modifications
•Coordinate patching and required documentation
•Identify problem areas on site and eliminate road blocks ahead of crews
•Design, procure, and test erection brackets
•Create and distribute Daily erection Report
•Ensure the patch book has been completed per procedures prior to requesting a patcher
•Follow through to project close out including punch list resolution

General Project Management:
•Fully understand the scope section of the contract and the precast specs.
•Develop and maintain the project schedule and/or task specific schedules as directed by supervisor
•Identify problem areas and windfall opportunities
•Ensure that check prints of all drawings has occurred as well as general checking of all important work
•Procure caulking sub prior to erection
•Communicate regularly with all customer, both external and internal

Specialized Knowledge:
•Advanced math skills
•Ability to visualize in 3D
•CAD proficiency and ability to quickly draw engineering sketches
•Ability to read, understand, and interpret architectural and engineering document

Southern California Edison’s (SCE's) Transmission and Distribution Organizational Unit (T & D) is responsible for planning, engineering, constructing, operating, and maintaining transmission and distribution facilities throughout the 50,000-square-mile territory. T&D is the steward of roughly $19 billion in assets that safely and reliably deliver electricity to14 million residents via SCE’s 4.9 million customer accounts.

Position Overview

The successful candidate will assist in the performance of general civil/structural engineering analysis, design, detailing, and CAD supported drafting for Southern California Edison Facilities and Substations. This may include work in areas of structural analysis, foundation and structural design, building design, and evaluation of existing facilities.

Typical responsibilities may include:

• Interfacing with a wide range of individuals from client organizations, operations, maintenance, peer disciplines, and management in order to define work requirements and deliverables, carry out their activities, and provide periodic engineering reporting and status updates.
• Gathering data, performing engineering analysis, & preparing reports, designs, drawings, and specifications.
• Overseeing the preparations of documents.
• Traveling throughout SCE’s service territory for work.
• Providing support to field personnel and other internal and external customers as required.
• Creating and maintaining a safety conscious work environment by leading and influencing others to follow Edison safety protocols and safe work practices.
• Performing other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Job Requirements:

Qualifications

• Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or related technical discipline.
• Must have two or more years of experience in civil and/or structural engineering.
• Typically possesses five or more years of experience in engineering-related field.
• Demonstrated experience in a variety of Structural Engineering principles, including structural analysis, building codes, industry standards and regulations.
• Demonstrated experience with civil or structural engineering for substations.
• Demonstrated experience providing technical consultation, plan development and recommendations and evaluating effectiveness of technical systems.
• Demonstrated experience creating and modifying engineering drawings using computer aided drafting.
• Demonstrated experience facilitating the presentation of recommendations, effectively present technical information and guide discussions toward the attainment of mutually acceptable goals and outcomes.
• Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and AutoCAD or other computer-based design programs.
• Must demonstrate the ability to interface effectively and collaborate with clients, peers, project personnel, and other stakeholders as required.
• Must demonstrate the ability to integrate work across relevant areas, enhance customer satisfaction and productivity, manage risks and safety appropriately, develop and execute business plans, manage information, and provide exceptional service to internal and external customers.
• Must demonstrate effective resource and project planning, decision making, results delivery, team building, and the ability to stay current with relevant technology and innovation.

• Engineer In Training (EIT) certificate.
• Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE)

OVERVIEW
The Judicial Council of California is currently recruiting for a Senior Construction Inspector in its’ Judicial Branch Capital Program. The Judicial Branch Capital Program has responsibility for business and planning, design and construction, and risk management of the state’s courthouses. There is one position and the incumbent will be located in Burbank or another location to be determined in the southern California region.

The Senior Construction Inspector will perform technical construction inspections of architectural, civil, structural, mechanical, electrical and plumbing elements during construction or alternation of judicial branch building and facilities. The projects inspected by this position will primarily be facility modifications in existing, operating court facilities. Some inspections may be performed after the work has been completed depending on workload, inspection priority, and type of project. Additionally, this position may monitor other inspectors and material testing laboratories performing work on Judicial Council facilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Evaluates the need for inspections and material testing on construction and renovation
projects based on the contract documents, California Building Standards Code
requirements, and manufacturer’s instructions.
• Provides technical direction and oversight of contracted construction inspectors, special
inspection and material testing laboratories, State Fire Marshal inspections, and Board of
State and Community Corrections inspections as required for an assigned project.
Enforces inspection procedures as required.
• Performs inspections of assigned building construction projects to determine the quality
of workmanship and materials used to conform to the design plans and specifications, the
California Building Standards Code requirements, and manufacturer’s written installation
instructions.
• Studies project specifications and drawings to become familiar with projects prior to
inspection and ensure that supplement design direction is approved by appropriate
authorities prior to construction.
• Evaluates working conditions and recommends improvements in construction site safety
and health methods, practices, and procedures.
• Investigates accidents, or near miss events, involving building system failures and/or
construction means and methods to determine cause and origin of the event, and assist
in developing a code compliant scope of restoration work required.
• Responds and assists the Judicial Council staff with questions about California Building Standards
Code requirements and assigned projects’ Status.

QUALIFICATION

Minimum Qualifications:

Equivalent to possession of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college with coursework in engineering or architecture is required as well as three years of experience as a licensed California general contractor, building construction project lead/working supervisor or field superintendent, architectural/engineering project field coordinator or inspector of facility construction for compliance with building codes, plans, and specifications; qualifying experience must include one year of lead experience.
