Sacramento, CA—At the recently completed Annual Convention and Exhibit in Las Vegas, the Structural Engineers Association of California (SEAOC) inducted five association members into the prestigious SEAOC College of Fellows, and recognized 19 firms for creative achievement and innovation in structural engineering design through its 12th annual Competition for Engineering Excellence Awards.

As part of a luncheon program, six SEAOC members were honored with SEAOC’s highest form of recognition for outstanding contributions to the profession and the organization - induction into the SEAOC College of Fellows. The inductees were: Martin Johnson, Irvine; Charles Kircher and David Bonowitz, San Francisco; Doug Krug, Sacramento; and Bob Dyson, San Diego.

A highlight of the convention program was the announcement of the winners of the Excellence in Engineering Awards Competition. Twenty firms out of 42 entries were selected by a team of experienced judges as being projects demonstrating exceptional innovation and creativity in finding economic solutions to complex engineering problems. The award winners by category were:
